2002 Riesling In The Rapids
The great grape of Germany, Riesling is enjoying an overdue resurgence of popularity, particularly since Canadian wineries started working with the grape to produce some excellent quality wines. Fresh 'Granny Smith' apple and lemon peel flavours with racy acidity are typical flavours in youth, with oily kerosene tones developing as the wine matures. This New World Rieslings is full of vibrant rich fruit. Cool-fermented in stainless steel using selected yeast strains and left on the lees for several months. Completely dry with a richly extracted texture, concentrated citrus fruit and very taut, minerally acid balance. Best approached in 2004, and capable of cellaring through at least 2012. Food matches: Sushi; freshwater fish (trout, pickerel); shellfish (crab, scallops, lobster); choucroute garnis; pork or veal cutlets." 750ml.

This wine has a gloriously floral nose, more like a bouquet than a glass of wine, although the flavors are packed with fruit; the clear winner of the flight. Drinks well on its own. Matches with our Antipasto salad and Chicken and Mushroom Tagliatelle, it also matches with mild to medium spiced Asian cooking, grilled and baked vegetables, shellfish and lighter pastas. 750 ml.

 2004 Pinot Gris
Pale gold; classic aromas mix flowers, orange blossom, muscat, ripe tropical fruit, apricot, citrus, and pear with hints of oak, spice, flint and petroleum; fruit-forward, orange peel, lemon, grapefruit, litchi, honey and green apple flavors; light body with roundness and a pleasant mouthfeel; good balance; finish is long, clean, mouthwatering, spicy, yet delicate. It is a perfect wine to counteract the chili heat of light to medium spiced Thai cuisine while it also tastes good with a spicy soy marinated roasted quarter of chicken. However avoid foods with fruity sauces unfortunately this is a clash rather than a complement.

 2005 Pinot Gris
2005 was one of our best years for white wines. Due to a lot of rain during the year harvests were low but the quality was very high. This wine shows very nice tropical fruits and is as all our Pinot gris very fruite-forward.
